The Brand St Mungo's is London's leading charity for people who are homeless and vulnerable. They are best known for their street outreach work and hostels for rough sleepers. But hostels are just a few of their 60 housing projects as they do much more than simply provide shelter. The Brief e-Moonlighting.co.uk were briefed to develop a joint campaign with London Underground, where by all the used tickets or travel cards at Brixton LU Station, were not simply thrown away, but collected by ticket bins. For every ticket collected LU would give a percentage of money saved, back to St Mungo's. The Strategy e-Moonlighting.co.uk concluded that a major part of the campaign's success was a photo call in all the local and London newspapers, as well as developing a poster campaign to promote the services of St Mungo's within the community with the help of LU and all the used tickets given by commuters. The Solution and Results The solution was a poster campaign highlighting the effects of street begging and the benefits of St Mungo's street outreach teams around the immediate area of Brixton Tube station and posters for the ticket bins within the station foyer. The results were an immediate cheque for £5,000, which was presented to St Mungo's at a press photo call at Brixton station to launch the joint campaign which in turn led to local press and 'London Tonight' television coverage.
